Although their luster may not be as deep as that of their more expensive counterparts, they make up for it in their variety of shapes and natural colors. Perfectly round freshwater pearls are rare and they each come with a distinct and unique shape called baroque. There are keishi pearls, rice pearls, potato pearls, nugget pearls, oblong pearls, button pearls, coin pearls that are flat and round or flat and squarish, and even stick pearls. They are also much more durable than other types of pearls because they are made of solid nacre.

Modern designers love to use freshwater pearls for wedding bridal jewelry designs. The variety of shapes, sizes and textures allow for more creativity and uniqueness. Aside from the natural colors in which freshwater pearls come, they can likewise be dyed in practically any color. They are also often incorporated into beaded jewelry, combined with the highest quality of Swarovski crystals.

Any bride wants to choose her wedding bridal jewelry as carefully as she chooses from among hundreds of wedding dresses just to find the perfect bridal gown for herself.
